The GG map acts as a quick plan. Summarise your knowledge as quick point-form notes, and arrange the notes under each sub-topic or section heading. Make sure that each point follows on from the previous one in a logical sequence.

You can also use your rough plan to plan your content and your time. For example, if you have to do 3,000 words you could organise it this way: introduction, 250 words • BODY = 5 sections - 500 words each • conclusion - 250 words = 3,000 words. Or, if you're doing a talk, you can plan a 3 min. intro, 5 min for each section, and a 3 min. conclusion. Having this sort of map makes it much easier to keep on track, keep on time, and stick to the point.
