When you have recorded rough notes from lots of information sources, you need to sort them under the sections or category headings of your MAP and combine your information, just as you combine ingredients to cook a meal. If you label your sections, A, B etc or 1, 2, etc you can go through your notes and put A. B, etc next to that information if it relates. You can even cut out your notes and sort them into piles, or store them in sections of your file under these headings! Then you need to go through your information, break it down (analyse it) and combine it (synthesise it) to work out the main claims relevant to your purpose. Compare and contrast what the information says and write a summary. If you've got your information claims labelled A, B etc you can put claims from three different sources in the circles of your Venn diagram, and then write a summary sentence synthesising the information.
